Kitty Czarnecki, SLP, teacher, parent
I'm passionate about education.
I support the mission statement of the Rescue Union School District to provide every student with a “challenging, comprehensive and quality education in a safe environment in which all individuals are respected, valued, connected, and supported.” To accomplish this we need to;
- Encourage Parent Involvement. Who knows your child's needs better than you? Educators must connect regularly with parents to make the journey a success for all students.
- Support our Teachers. Teachers can be successful only if they feel supported by the district and the board. They provide invaluable feedback to the experience in the classroom.
- Engaging Curriculum. We have some ground to make up post-COVID. Keeping students engaged and stimulated through evidence-based curriculum is a way to make up those differences.
My Background
I have worn many hats during my lifetime, including mom, actress, teacher, and therapist, to name a few. Somehow all of these "jobs" have included children.

Graduated in 2017 from California State University, Sacramento with a Masters in Speech Pathology
Teacher
Substitute Teacher from 1998-2012
Worked with PK- Highschool students, as well as an aide to children with disabilities.
Executive Director
Art & Soul Productions, a non-profit company that produced assemblies and plays for children, as well as a summer theater camp from 2007 to 2017.
Parent
My greatest work! Three daughters who all attended public school in El Dorado County and went on to graduate from UC San Diego, Loyola Marymount, and UC Santa Barbara.
ASD Aide
"Stair Steps", an in-home program that provided therapy services to children with Autism Spectrum Disorder.
Teaching brought me such joy!

District 5 families are being crushed under the weight of high utility bills, and for the fourth time this year, the California Public Utilities Commission approved PG&E's request to raise rates. That hike was done without a full public hearing. It is well past time that we address the unchecked power of the CPUC and PG&E.I will fight to ensure our energy needs are affordable, and that big corporations like PG&E are held accountable.
Melissa Keizer for Buckeye School Board https://www.melissakeyzer4buckeye.org/
From the time my oldest son began kindergarten in 2014, I’ve devoted my energy to helping make our schools even better. I’ve been a “full-time volunteer,” working closely with the Buckeye School District both inside and outside the classrooms. In 2018, I was recruited to lead the Buckeye Education Foundation, the non-profit that supports all Buckeye District schools by supplying grants to the District, schools, and teachers, and hosting district-wide events. I’ve thus made it a priority to keep current with all Buckeye District issues, regularly attending board meetings and meeting with District administrators and staff.
